I've been trying to contact someone on Craigslist about a car they have for sale. He hasn't replied, how long should I wait for a reply? And how many times is an acceptable amount to contact him? (He lists his phone and email in the ad, and I've emailed him twice.)

Try giving him a call. Your emails might have gone to spam or something.
If it doesn't work out, you can always consider this Craigslist car:

It's SO AWESOME and I answer all my emails and calls. :)

If it has been less than 24 hours, maybe he just hasn't checked his mail today. But go ahead and call him.

In my experience of selling vehicles on craigslist, the serious buyers call and don't waste time with text messages or emails. If you haven't already, call them. Leave a voicemail if they don't pick up.

Call him. As a CL seller, I have emails wind up in my spam folder constantly.

I would definitely call, if you are local make sure you say so. If you are sending emails through the CL anonymous system I don't think they can tell it the same person from note to note unless you so, so you can try different approaches until you get a reply without seeming like a freak.
